Trail
Ridge Road follows a path that the Ute and
other Native American peoples used for thousands of
years. The trip begins at Deer Ridge Junction, just
above the Beaver Meadows
entrance, and traverses a spectacular alpine landscape
en route to Grand Lake near the west entrance of the
park. Reaching an elevation of over 12,000 feet above
sea level, Trail Ridge Road is the highest continuous
highway in the United States.
